Most recently, Anthony Agbojo held the position of General Manager of Strategy, Planning, Economics, and New Business Development at Seplat Energy PLC in Nigeria. In this capacity, he was charged with initiating and coordinating the implementation of the Seplat corporate strategy, ensuring that the company’s strategic goals were achieved through rigorous planning and effective execution.

Mr Agbojo was instrumental in developing and rolling out the Seplat Corporate Business Plan. He oversaw the crafting of the annual budget and the formulation of the company’s 10-Year Plan, providing robust economic analysis to support all areas of the business. His leadership delivered a clear roadmap for the organisation’s growth and operational priorities, and his insights proved invaluable in guiding decision-making throughout the company. Additionally, he played a significant role in identifying, evaluating, and successfully closing new business deals, further consolidating Seplat’s standing within the energy sector.

Earlier in his career, Mr Agbojo spent over twenty years at Shell, where he held several influential positions. As Asset Delivery Manager, he led the management of the Onshore Swamp assets within the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited. This demanding portfolio comprised 69 fields across 11 Oil Mining Leases (OMLs), with an aggregate ultimately recoverable oil and condensate volume of around 7.9 billion barrels and a gas reserve of 29 trillion cubic feet.

Before taking on asset management responsibilities, Mr Agbojo served as Business Opportunity Manager, where he successfully delivered gas projects that supplied Brass Fertilizer and Petrochemical Company Limited. He also played a key role in the execution of integrated oil and gas development projects in both the Forcados and Southern Swamp nodes, contributing significantly to the company’s objectives in these strategic locations.

During his tenure with Shell International Exploration and Production (SEPCo) in New Orleans, USA, Mr Agbojo provided economic and risk analysis for Gulf of Mexico projects. His contributions supported strategic decision-making and ensured that projects were managed efficiently and effectively.

He also monitored industry benchmarking data and implemented best practices to enhance the SEPCo portfolio. Furthermore, he provided Opportunity Framing guidance, assisting Shell EP Americas in defining and prioritising new business opportunities.
